Sally Ferguson DOB 1.12.1958. in Kent. Spent most of my youth in Farnham Surrey. Lived abroad in East Pakistan/ Bangladesh age 6-9; I think my love of vivid colour comes from this time.

Studied  Medicine at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne .I sketched on holiday. I specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, first in London, then went to work in Kong Kong. Worked in other places in my 50s, Singapore, Lesotho, Nepal and Papua New Guinea.  I painted more and took classes; thanks to Helen Bronte Boyd, Gary Young, Gina Deardon, and Alison Orchard, artist friends along the way.

I embarked on an MA in Fine Art at UCA in Farnham in order to explore the stories I wanted to tell and find new artistic expression.

I became a biodiversity artist by the end of the first year. Having felt close to nature and wanting to protect the environment since my teens, by painting and making creatures in and out of their ecosystems I am hoping to add my voice in the clamour against climate change and loss of species.
